The Immediate Area:
The gently sloping mountainside above Rafalet has recently been replanted
with thousands of trees
and other local flora as part of a biodiversity program. These are
just starting to establish themselves and
in a few years we can imagine the whole hillside being much greener.
There are many good walks that can
be taken with various levels of difficulty and duration. A good number
of these are quite well way marked,
others will need a map.There are a few private villas nestled in the
surrounding area which are owned by a
variety of european nationalities as well as some Spanish locals.
If you are looking for a buzzing night life and
busy bars on your doorstep then you will be sadly disappointed. There
are however some great local
restaurants and bars within easy striking distance so there really
is no reason to cook every day. There
are good shops in the nearest town, Benissa catering for all of one's
day to day need
together with a thriving weekly market.
Access:
The villa is situated a couple of hundred metres up a small road,
flanked to the side with almond
trees and vines. The Villa is accessed along an impressive driveway
turning left off this road.
All accommodation is on one level. With a south
facing aspect and all day sun, there are
spectacular panoramic views extending from the 40km horizon over the
sea through the valleys to
the awesome grandeur of the Bernia mountain range.
